I am writing to sing the praises of members of our community who take time to improve the lives of others. The Learning Center at Gruening Park recently coordinated our first “Family Night” of the fall. We had a great turnout with over 60 kids and 30 adults.
The Halloween fun was made possible by generous donations from Breeze In who gave treats for a doughnut contest and prizes, Dr. Amy Dressel who provided face painting, Dr. Mark Riederer DDS and Alaska Dental Arts for toothbrushes and toothpaste, the Alaska T-shirt Company for gloves and the Juneau Police Department – DARE for reflectors.
April from Juneau Public Health came and provided flu shots, and the Common Ground Church members donated a delicious meal and their time to make the event happen.
Our goal was to provide a safe, fun event. This is only possible through the time, energy and generosity of the diverse members of the community. Thank you all for your time and support.
