Moving with the Mind of Meditation, Thursday, May 24, 5:30-7 p.m., Juneau Shambala Center. A book club for runners and walkers. Each meeting will starts with a walk or run at your own pace for 30 or 60 minutes. Alaska Society for Marine Mammology Fundraiser, Friday, May 25, 6-8 p.m., Fisherman’s Bend. The Alaska Society for Marine Mammalogy Student Chapter will be holding for a whale watch fundraiser to support small grants for student research, education, and outreach in Alaska. Guest host, Ginny Jurasz Palmer, will lead engaging commentary along with current Alaska Chapter student and faculty representatives from the University of Alaska. Princess Sophia Walking Tour, Tuesday, May 29, 5:15-7 p.m., Juneau-Douglas City Museum. The Juneau-Douglas City Museum will be leading walking tours to observe the 100th anniversary of the loss of the Princess Sophia, and to commemorate the lives of the 350 people who perished in the worst maritime disaster in Alaska history.
