Juneau police responded to a pipe bomb found at the entrance of Switzer Village in Lemon Creek on Friday afternoon.
The Juneau Police Department received a call about the explosive device around 4:45 p.m. Friday. JPD’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal team was able to remove the device and render it safe, said JPD Sgt. Jeremy Weske.
“The area was immediately secured and then … the second entrance to Switzer and parts of the third entrance were shut down while the EOD team secured the device and rendered it safe,” he said.
No one was injured and an investigation is ongoing.
