A Juneau man was arrested in the departure lounge at Juneau International Airport with about 4,500 pills suspected of containing fentanyl and 66 grams of powdered fentanyl, with a total street value of about $62,540, the Juneau Police Department reported in a press release Thursday.
The arrest occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday when members of the Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs (SEACAD) task force confronted Carson Knight on suspicion of transporting controlled substances from Washington state to Juneau, according to the release. The suspected drugs were found in his luggage.
Knight was arrested for two counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree, a Class A felony. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
He made a felony first appearance in Juneau Superior Court on Thursday, according to the state’s court database. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Nov. 24.
