A man suffered what authorities called life-threatening injuries after being stabbed with a fillet knife Monday, police say.
At about 6:38 p.m. Monday, a woman called 911 to say a man had been wounded with a knife and was hurt and bleeding, according to a Juneau Police Department press release. Officers were called to a residence in the 5000 block of North Douglas Highway where they found a 61-year-old man lying on the floor, the release states.
Officers found that the man had a stab wound to his abdomen, and he was taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say. Police found a fillet knife in the home that they determined was used in the assault.

At the home, officers arrested Juneau resident Sonya H. Taton, 42, for first-degree domestic violence assault, the release states. Taton was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
The victim, who was not named in the release, was flown to Seattle for further treatment, according to the release.
