Pedestrian killed on Seward Highway south of Potter Marsh

ANCHORAGE — Anchorage police are investigating the death of a pedestrian struck on the Seward Highway just south of Potter Marsh.

Police just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday took a call from the driver of a semi. The driver reporting possibly striking a pedestrian near the highway truck scales.

Police found a critically injured woman, 62-year-old Gwen Truax, along the roadway.

She was transported to a hospital, where she died.

No citations have been issued and police are continuing to investigate the death.
