Police calls for Thursday, June 25, 2020

Assault

• At 8:59 a.m. Wednesday, a 30-year-old man was arrested on a JPD warrant for domestic violence-assault, violating conditions of release and unlawful contact on Fritz Cove Road, and additionally charged with violating conditions of release and unlawful contact. He was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Crash

• At 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old boy struck a guardrail on the 9600 block of Mendenhall Loop Road. There were no injuries, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Death

• At 2:34 p.m. on Tuesday, Juneau Police Department investigated the death of a 72-year-old man on the 5000 block of Glacier Highway. The death is not considered suspicious.

Drunken Driving

At 1:37 a.m. Wednesday, 35-year-old David Anthony Whisenant was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The vehicle he was driving was impounded, and he was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Alcohol was a factor.

Sex Crime

• At 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, JPD conducted a confidential investigation into a reported sexual assault.

Shoplift

• At 7:29 p.m. on Tuesday, JPD received a report of a 37-year-old woman trespassing and concealing merchandise at a business on the 5200 block of Commercial Boulevard.

Trespassing

• At 9:55 p.m. on Tuesday, a JPD officer saw a 22-year-old man and 20-year-old man trespassing on the 400 block of Franklin Street. Alcohol was a factor.

Vandalism

• At 8:11 p.m. on Tuesday, JPD received a report of vandalism to a 2000 Ford pickup truck on the 8400 block of Valley Boulevard.

• At 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, a 51-year-old man reported his residence on the 5900 block of Pine Street was egged some time during the night. There was no permanent damage.
