Police calls for Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018

Assault

• At 3:06 a.m. Sunday, the Juneau Police Department arrested Tony Tompkins, 27, at Sealaska Plaza for violating conditions of release. Tompkins was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Conditions violation

• At 2:51 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 8700 block of Haloff Way to investigate the report of harassment and violating conditions of release. Investigation continues.

• At 12:32 a.m. Saturday, JPD arrested Rowena Reeves, 52, in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive for violating conditions of release. Alcohol was a factor. Reeves was taken to LCCC.

Death

• At 9:45 a.m. Saturday, JPD assisted another agency with the death investigation of a 71-year-old man in the Juneau area. Lt. Krag Campbell said the man was identified as Daniel George Rear. The death is not considered suspicious, and next of kin has been notified.

Domestic violence

• At 10:34 p.m. Thursday, JPD arrested a 15-year-old girl for domestic violence assault in the Juneau area. Alcohol was a factor. She was taken to Juneau Youth Center.

• At 11:23 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to the report of an assault in the Juneau area.

• At 9:17 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the report of a 29-year-old woman who reported an assault in the Juneau area. Alcohol was a factor.

• At 1:22 a.m. Saturday, JPD arrested a 14-year-old man in the Juneau area for criminal mischief. Alcohol was a factor.

Drunken driving

• At 7:27 p.m. Saturday, JPD arrested Jose Raul Luna, 67, in the 4700 block of Douglas Highway for driving under the influence. Luna’s breath-alcohol content was measured at 0.137 percent. He was taken to LCCC.

Fraud

• At 1:22 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the report of check fraud in the Juneau area. Investigation continues.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 8:55 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to the 5800 block of Glacier Highway to investigate the report of a single-car collision that damaged an estimated 30 feet of guard rail and the undercarriage of the car. The driver was not injured and was cited for reckless operation. The car was towed. Campbell said the driver was a juvenile, and JPD doesn’t release names of juveniles.

• At 1:25 a.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 4400 block of Mendenhall Loop Road to investigate the report of a car crash. No injuries were reported.

Shoplifting

• At 6:03 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to the 5100 block of Glacier Highway to investigate the report of shoplifting from Western Auto Marine.

• At 10:10 a.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 100 block of Franklin Street to investigate the report of a theft from a business. Investigation continues.

Theft

• At 12:49 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to the 9300 block of Glacier Highway to investigate the report of a 31-year-old woman who reported the the theft of a 2008 maroon Chevy Colorado. Investigation continues.

• At 7:41 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 3200 block of Mendenhall Loop Road to investigate the report of vehicle theft and criminal mischief. Investigation continues.

Trespassing

• At 3:57 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to the 2400 block of Industrial Boulevard to investigate the report of criminal trespass.

• At 10:16 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to Marine Way to investigate the report of criminal trespassing.

Vandalism

• At 11:53 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 3000 block of Vintage Boulevard to investigate the report of vandalism to a vehicle. Investigation continues.

• At 11:54 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the 8500 block of Forest Lane to investigate the report of a 32-year-old woman who reported her mailbox was vandalized. The mailbox was worth an estimated $40.
