Police calls for Wednesday, June 19, 2019

Assault

• At 6:22 p.m. Sunday, the Juneau Police Department responded to the 100 block of Franklin Street to investigate the report of an assault. Investigation continues.

Drunken driving

• At 5:39 p.m. Sunday, JPD arrested Dion John McCabe, 22, in the area of Davis Avenue for driving while intoxicated and failing to stop at the direction of an officer.

• At 10:17 p.m. Sunday, JPD arrested a 43-year-old man in the Juneau area for criminal mischief domestic violence. Alcohol was a factor. The man was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

• At 7:55 a.m. Monday, JPD responded to the report of domestic violence in the Juneau area. Investigation continues.

Theft

• At 11:59 a.m. Monday, JPD responded to the 15700 block of Glacier Highway to investigate a 65-year-old woman’s report that an outboard motor worth an estimated $9,000 was stolen.

Wildlife violations

• On June 9, Juneau-based Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Juneau resident Cecil McNutt, 56, for using sport-caught fish as bait. Troopers found that McNutt was using a fillet portion of a sport-caught halibut as bait. McNutt has a mandatory court appearance in Juneau District Court.

• On June 13, Juneau-based Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Juneau resident Jairo Rodriguez, 27, for sport fishing in closed waters when Troopers found him fishing at the mouth of Peterson Creek. The waters of Peterson Creek, as well as the saltwater within 200 yards of the creek mouth, had previously been closed until June 30 by to an emergency order due to steelhead conservation returns. The $120 citation was issued in Juneau District Court.

• On June 13, Juneau-based Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Juneau resident Curtis Trego, 34, for fishing without a sport fishing license. Troopers met Trego at the Echo Cove boat launch after he had returned from fishing and found he did not have the sport fishing license. The $220 citation was issued in Juneau District Court.

• On June 14, Juneau-based Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Juneau resident Tighe Daugherty, 36, for operating a personal-use Dungeness crab pot near Eagle Beach that was improperly marked. The $120 citation was issued in Juneau District Court.

• On June 14, Juneau-based Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Juneau resident Brian Felipe, 42, for using sport-caught fish as bait. Troopers found he was using fillets of sport-caught coho as bait in several personal-use crab pots. Felipe has a mandatory court appearance in Juneau District Court.
