Assault
• At 1:40 a.m. Sunday, the Juneau Police Department responded to an assault in the Juneau area; investigation continues.
• At 7:06 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to a report of an assault and criminal mischief in the 1000 block of Salmon Creek Lane; investigation continues.
Burglary
• At 12:46 p.m. Friday, JPD received a report of a stolen and recovered vehicle and a residential burglary on Leslie Avenue; investigation continues.
• At 7:26 a.m. Saturday, JPD received a report of a burglary in the 400 block of Seventh Street; investigation continues.
• At 12:16 p.m. Saturday, JPD received a report of a burglary in the 200 block of Ferry Way.
• At 1:57 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a report of a burglary of a storage unit in the 5400 block of Commercial Boulevard; investigation continues.
Counterfeit money
• At 2:36 a.m. Sunday, JPD received a report of fraudulent currency in the 200 block of Front Street; investigation continues.
Domestic dispute
• At 12:30 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to a report of a fight in the Juneau area and arrested a 27-year-old woman for domestic violence assault; alcohol was involved. She was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
• At 4:04 p.m. Friday, JPD arrested a man in the Juneau area for domestic violence assault and took him to LCCC.
• At 10:32 a.m. Sunday, JPD arrested a 29-year-old man in the Juneau area on two counts of assault and for violating conditions of release; he was taken to LCCC.
Driving under the influence
• At 4:47 p.m. Friday, JPD arrested Dixon James Mazon, 37, in the 6400 block of Douglas Highway, for DUI and refusal to undergo a breathalyzer; he was taken to LCCC.
• At 5 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a report of a person driving while intoxicated in the 500 block of Fifth Street.
• At 2:15 a.m. Sunday, JPD arrested Jennifer Rodriguez, 44, for DUI in the 300 block of Main Street after she blew a 0.124 percent BAC; she was taken to LCCC.
• At 3:18 a.m. Sunday, JPD arrested George Shorty, 37, for DWI on Kiowa Drive; he was taken to LCCC.
Elevator malfunction
• At 2:52 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to assist with a malfunctioning elevator at the downtown public library. Three men and a woman were in the elevator when the men decided to jump up and down, causing the elevator to stop; it was stopped for about an hour until an elevator technician was able to free the occupants and get it running again.
Failure to submit hunt report
• On Friday, Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited Shawna Hammonds, 24, of Juneau, for failure to submit a permit hunt report for a moose harvest.
Fire and medical
• On Wednesday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to six EMS calls and one medical transport in the area throughout the day. At 10:55 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a fire alarm on St. Ann’s Avenue and found it was a malicious activation. At 6:40 p.m., they were dispatched to a fire alarm on Mendenhall Loop Road that was due to burnt food. At 7:49 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to assist with the reset of a fire alarm system on Glacier Highway.
Robbery
• At 5:39 a.m., JPD responded to a report of a robbery on Egan Drive; investigation continues.
Shoplifting
• At 2:11 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to a shoplifting report in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway and cited David Barr, 36, for larceny.
• At 4:19 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to a shoplifting report in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway and arrested Michael James Hoyt, 38, for larceny after stealing nearly $25 in merchandise; Hoyt was taken to LCCC for violating conditions of release from pending court cases.
Theft
• At 1:43 p.m. Friday. JPD responded to a report of a stolen bicycle and backpack from behind a business in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway; investigation continues.
• At 2:40 a.m. Saturday, JPD received a report from a 32-year-old man in the 1800 block of Northwood Drive that his bicycle had been stolen.
• At 12:54 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a report from a 47-year-old man in the 9300 block of Glacier Highway that an outboard motor had been stolen from a skiff.
• At 1:09 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a report from a 51-year-old man in the 11400 block of Auke Bay Harbor Boulevard that fuel had been siphoned from his vehicle.
• At 9:35 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to a report of a theft from a business in the 7700 block of Glacier Highway; investigation continues.
Vandalism
• At 1:09 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a report of a broken window on a Jeep in the 5400 block of Shaune Drive; investigation continues.
Vehicle rifling
• At 7:41 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to a report of vehicle rifling in the 11900 block of Mendenhall Loop Road; nothing was taken from the vehicles.
Vehicle theft
• At 8:11 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a report of the theft of a green Volkswagen Passat in the 300 block of Fourth Street; investigation continues.
• At 10:14 a.m. Sunday, JPD received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 2400 block of Scott Drive; investigation continues.
