Police & Fire for Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Assault

• At 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Juneau Police Department received a report of an assault that occurred in the Juneau area; investigation continues.

• At 11:28 p.m. Saturday, JPD received a report from a 50-year-old female of being assaulted by a 56-year-old male in the Juneau area.

Fight

• At 1:21 p.m. Saturday, JPD received a report of a domestic disturbance in the Juneau area. One person was arrested and taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center on no bail.

Fire and medical

• On Sunday, Capital City Fire and Rescue responded to 13 Emergency Medical Service calls and two medical transport calls throughout the day.

• At 7:42 p.m., CCFR responded to a report of smoke coming out of a vehicle. Upon arrival, CCFR found steam coming from under the hood and assisted JPD with traffic control.

• At 9:13 p.m., CCFR received a report of an active carbon monoxide alarm. Upon arrival, responders did not detect heightened CO levels.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 3:51 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a witness report of a motor vehicle collision on Shattuck Way behind the City and Borough of Juneau City Hall. A grey four-door sedan was reportedly damaged and the suspect vehicle did not leave information or notice; investigation continues.

• At 9:31 p.m. Sunday, JPD responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision that resulted in minor injuries and an estimated $6,500 in damage.

Sex crime

• At 8:20 p.m. Saturday, JPD received a report of a sexual assault in the Juneau area; investigation continues.

Shoplifting

• At 7:24 p.m. Sunday, JPD arrested 51-year-old David Rose for trespassing and shoplifting in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue. Rose was transported to Juneau Recovery Hospital due to intoxication.

• At 9:33 p.m. Sunday, JPD arrested 36-year-old David Barr Jr. for shoplifting in the 600 block of Willoughby Avenue. Barr Jr. was cited and released.

Theft

• At 1:24 p.m. Saturday, JPD received a report of a theft in the 4000 block of Diane Road; investigation continues.

• At 10:57 p.m. Sunday, JPD received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle in the 1700 block of Davis Avenue; investigation continues.

Trespassing

• At 6:42 p.m. Sunday, JPD received a report of trespassing in the 11400 block of Auke Bay Harbor Road; investigation continues.

• At 11:43 a.m. Monday, JPD arrested 56-year-old Jay West for criminal trespass in the 8800 block of Glacier Highway. West was cited and released.
