Assault
• At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the Juneau Police Department responded to a report of an assault in the 3400 block of Foster Avenue; investigation continues.
• At 1:25 a.m. Friday, JPD received a report by a 32-year-old woman in the 100 block of Franklin Street regarding an assault by a 44-year-old man; alcohol was involved.
Burglary
• At 9:36 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to a burglary in the 5300 block of Shaune Drive; investigation continues.
• At 4:56 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to a burglary on South Franklin Street; investigation continues.
Child abuse
• At 12:37 p.m. Friday, JPD received a report of child abuse or neglect in the Juneau area; investigation continues.
Contraband
• On 7:23 a.m. Saturday, Lemon Creek Correctional Center reported finding contraband in mail addressed to an inmate. The Alaska State Troopers are investigating.
Counterfeit money
• At 3:19 p.m. Thursday, JPD received a report of two counterfeit $50 bills found in the 100 block of Franklin Street.
Disorderly conduct
• At 1:23 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a fight in the 100 block of Marine Way and arrested James Young, 51, for disorderly conduct; he was taken to LCCC.
Domestic dispute
• At 4:40 p.m. Friday, JPD received a report of domestic violence in the Juneau area; investigation continues.
Drunken driving
• At 4:16 a.m. Sunday, JPD arrested Rowena June Reeves, 50, for driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a blood alcohol content test.
Fire and medical
• On Friday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to 13 EMS calls and one medical transport in the area throughout the day. At 8:58 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a possible underground fire at Point Lena and extinguished a fire in the roots of a tree. They responded to non-injury crashes at 1:53 p.m. on Glacier Highway and at 3:59 p.m. on Concrete Way.
Hiker rescue
• At 7:15 p.m. Friday, Alaska State Troopers were contacted by Shari Martin, 57, of Juneau, and Anna Schovaers, 31, of Utah, because they got stuck on steep terrain while returning from the ice caves on the West Glacier Trail. CCFR and U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement responded with jet boats and provided transportation for a Juneau Mountain Rescue hasty team to the scene. At about 9:45 p.m., JMR team reached the two women and helped them down to Mendenhall Lake with ropes. They reported being cold and tired, but were uninjured.
Motor vehicle crash
• At 2:20 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a motor vehicle crash with injury in the Juneau area; investigation continues.
Shoplifting
• At 12:09 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to a shoplifting report at Fred Meyer and arrested Joshua Jones, 24, for larceny after he reportedly shoplifted $101 worth of items.
• At 7:16 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a shoplifting report in the 3000 block of Vintage Boulevard; investigation continues.
• At 2:09 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a shoplifting report in the 3000 block of Vintage Boulevard; investigation continues.
• At 4:36 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a shoplifting report in the 8700 block of Glacier Highway.
Theft
• At 1:46 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to a report regarding the theft of services in the 1400 block of Harbor Way.
• At 2:07 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to a report by a 35-year-old woman in the Juneau area regarding the theft of a black leather purse worth an estimated $100, a Coach wallet worth $250, a debit card and a cellphone worth $700.
• At 2:20 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to a theft report in the 300 block of Fourth Street; investigation continues.
• At 3:40 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to a report by a 55-year-old man in the Juneau area that items had been stolen from his RV some time in November.
• At 3:51 p.m. Thursday, JPD responded to a report of the theft of medication in the 3200 block of Hospital Drive; investigation continues.
• At 8:12 a.m. Friday, JPD received a report that approximately $500 worth of concrete pier pads were stolen during the night on the 5700 block of Concrete Way.
• At 10:16 a.m. Friday, JPD responded to a report of the theft of bicycle parts in the 3100 block of Dimond Park Loop.
• At 10:37 a.m. Friday, JPD responded to a report by a 28-year-old man in the 3000 block of Dimond Park Loop that his Carbondale mountain bike, worth $150, had been stolen.
• At 10:17 p.m. Friday, JPD received a report from a 73-year-old man in the 2800 block of Mendenhall Loop Road regarding a theft.
• At 4:57 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a report of the theft of a Stihl chainsaw worth an estimated $1,400 in the 5300 block of Shaune Drive.
• At 2:29 a.m. Sunday, JPD received a report from a 33-year-old woman in the 200 block of Front Street that her purse, wallet, jacket and cellphone were stolen from a local bar after she left them on a chair unattended for two minutes.
Trespassing
• At 6:07 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a trespassing report in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.
• At 9:31 a.m. Sunday, JPD cited Stephen Dallas Costello, 25, for criminal trespass in the 9900 block of Stephen Richards Memorial Drive.
Vandalism
• At 7:29 p.m. Thursday, JPD received a report that a vehicle’s tires were slashed near Amalga Harbor, with damage estimated at $400.
• At 1:23 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to a vandalism report in the 300 block of Gastineau Avenue; investigation continues.
• At 9:32 a.m. Saturday, JPD received a report from a 48-year-old woman in the 5900 block of Churchill Way regarding damage to her vehicle.
• At 10:50 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to a report of criminal mischief on the 100 block of Franklin Street; investigation continues.
