Police & fire for Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016

Assault

• At 11:25 p.m. Sunday, the Juneau Police Department cited and released Letha Cesar, 54, for assaulting a 45-year-old woman in the 2800 block of Postal Way. Alcohol was involved.

• On Monday, Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of an assault at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center between two male inmates. Investigation continues.

Assist

• At 10:27 a.m. Monday, JPD created a case after assisting another agency in the Juneau area.

Drug activity

• At 4:18 p.m. Sunday, JPD received a report of a controlled substance crime in the 8700 block of Glacier Highway. Investigation continues.

• At 7:22 a.m. Monday, JPD received a report of drug activity in the 13400 block of Glacier Highway. Confidential investigation continues.

Fire and medical

• On Friday, Capital City Fire/Rescue responded to six EMS calls, one transport call and one structure fire contained by the building owners.

• On Saturday, CCFR responded to eight EMS calls, two transport calls, one home call for assistance and one tree fire.

• On Sunday, CCFR responded to 10 EMS calls, two transport calls, one burn complaint, one false fire alarm and one call to assist the Juneau Recovery Unit.

• On Monday, CCFR responded to eight EMS calls, four transport calls, one vehicle accident, one false fire alarm and one call that was cancelled en route.
Motor vehicle accident

• At 8:26 a.m. Monday, JPD cited Julian Minne, 20, for careless driving after a single vehicle crash in the area of Glacier Highway at Auke Rec Bypass resulted in approximately $1,500 in damage to a vehicle and guardrail.

• At 11:50 a.m. Monday, JPD cited Mareta Weed, 36, for driving through a steady red light in the 2800 block of Riverside Drive and failing to carry insurance after a traffic accident. A passenger in a second vehicle was treated on scene by medical staff for a minor head wound.

Shoplifting

• At 4:18 p.m. Sunday, JPD cited and released Christopher Stetson, 65, for larceny in the 8700 block of Glacier Highway.

Theft

• At 2:41 p.m. Sunday, JPD received a report of a theft from a business in the 200 block of Seward Street. Investigation continues.

• At 1:00 p.m. Sunday, a 60-year-old man reported his cellphone stolen in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway.

• At 8:30 p.m. Sunday, JPD received a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1600 block of Glacier Avenue. The vehicle was later located and returned to the owner.

• At 3:31 p.m. Sunday, JPD received a report of stolen prescription medication, valued at $10, in the 10600 block of Horizon Drive. Investigation continues.
