ANCHORAGE — A search was to resume Friday for an Air Force airman from Texas man missing on a kayaking trip at an Alaska lake.
Alaska State Troopers said Robert Brown was last seen Monday at Eklutna Lake in Anchorage.
Brown was stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage.
Public affairs spokesman Staff Sgt. John Wright said Brown’s rank was airman first class but that his hometown can’t be released.
Eklutna Lake supplies water for Anchorage. Troopers saidBrown on Monday night had been kayaking near the municipal water supply intake.
Anchorage firefighters launched a search. Divers could not be deployed because of strong currents near the supply intake.
