Juneau student graduates from Salt Lake Community College

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Craig Allen Capizzi, of Juneau, graduated with an Associate of Science in general studies, according to SLCC.

Salt Lake Community College is Utah’s largest open-access college, according to SLCC, with 8 areas of study at 12 locations and online. The majority of SLCC graduates transfer to four-year institutions, and thousands more are trained in direct-to-workforce programs.

Boise Bronco from Juneau earns degree

BOISE, Idaho — Amanda Bicknell of Juneau graduated with a Bachelor of Science in health studies from Boise State University on May 9, according to the university.

Bicknell was among nearly 2,800 students eligible for degrees. according to BSU. Boise State celebrated their achievements with the university’s first-ever virtual commencement ceremony on May 9.

Boise State is a public metropolitan research university with nearly 28,000 students.

2 earn degrees from Western Governors University

SALT LAKE CITY — Caitlin Bedford of Juneau earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Western Governors University, according to WGU. Bedford was one of two locals to graduate from the online, nonprofit university.

Monica George of Juneau earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing management.

WGU was established in 1997 by 19 U.S. governors with a mission to expand access to high-quality, affordable higher education. WGU now serves more than 121,000 students nationwide and has more than 178,000 graduates in all 50 states.
