ANCHORAGE — An Anchorage woman died Sunday night after her all-terrain vehicle overturned in a creek that feeds into the Knik River in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.
Alaska State Troopers said 39-year-old Ai Lor died after she and an 8-year-old girl riding on a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle rolled into Friday Creek.
Troopers took a call on the overturned ATV at 5:11 p.m. and responded with a riverboat and a helicopter.
Members of an ATV group pulled the child from the overturned ATV.
Just before 6 p.m., Lor’s body was spotted about 150 yards downstream from the ATV.
An autopsy has been scheduled.
Friday Creek is 10 miles up the Knik River from the Old Glenn Highway in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.
