Parents and community members are invited to learn about the Juneau School District’s free optional programs Saturday afternoon, 1:30-3:30, at the downtown public library.
The district offers three optional programs: Juneau Community Charter School for kindergarten through eighth grade, Montessori Borealis for 3-year-olds through eighth grade, and the Tlingit, Culture, Language & Literacy Program for kindergarten through fifth grade.
Representatives from each program will be available during Saturday’s information session.
The district is currently accepting optional program applications, which can be found on the Juneau School District’s website, www.juneauschools.org. Applications go through a placement process.
Applications are due by April 29 for placement in the 2016/17 school year. Families will be contacted in May. Applications received after April 29, 2016 will be added to the waitlist or offered a seat if space is available.
