The Juneau Huskies trail South Anchorage 18-14 at halftime in the Division I state quarterfinals. Cooper Kriegmont and Ali Beya have Juneau’s touchdown.

Beya’s 3-yard touchdown grab capped a 19-play drive that ended just before halftime. The drive started on Juneau’s own 25-yard-line, and featured a big fourth-down conversion by running back Gaby Soto.

Kriegmont scored Juneau’s first points late in the first quarter. Kriegmont, the Huskies’ preferred ball carrier, followed a blocker for a 7-yard run into the left side of the end zone nearest to the ball fields at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Park.

The Wolverines took their second lead of the game near the end of the first quarter. Quarterback Jackson Harmon faked a handoff, rolled to his right and delivered a strike to wide receiver Sean Ormberg for a 30-yard score.

Harmon had another big throw in the second frame, a 61-yard touchdown pass that put South up 18-7 with 8:38 left in the half.
