Live Baseball: Juniors Baseball State Tournament

Follow the action live.

9:15 p.m.

Juneau takes the 14-4 win, giving themselves the opportunity to clinch the state championship tomorrow night at 6 p.m. with another win against Ketchikan. Kaleb Campbell is arguably the player of the game, pitching three scoreless innings and leading the team with 4 RBIs.

8:55 p.m.

It’s a bonafide blowout now — Juneau is up 14-4 midway through the seventh after Caden Mesdag, Kaeden Quinto, Kaleb Campbell and Joe Aline all score. It’s not going to take a big rally for Ketchikan to recover from this.

8:45 p.m.

Ketchikan can’t cash in on a one-out single by Chase Hanis, and is now down to its final three outs, trailing 10-4 to start the seventh.

8:40 p.m.

We’re now midway through the bottom of the sixth, and Ketchikan is down to its last five outs. Juneau leads 10-4.

8:15 p.m.

Juneau makes a key out early in the bottom of the fifth, catching Archie Dundas stealing second and doesn’t give up any runs in the inning.

8 p.m.

Ketchikan has a strong defensive showing in the top of the fifth, and their deficit stays at five runs to start the bottom of the fifth. Juneau 9, Ketchikan 4.

7:50 p.m.

Juneau will try to pad its lead here in the top of the fifth.

7:43 p.m.

All of a sudden, Ketchikan’s comeback hopes feel very much in play as a Ketchikan batter Colton Shull hits a three-RBI triple. It’s now 9-4 Ketchikan, and Derek Schauwecker will take over the mound for Joe Aline.

7:35 p.m.

Joe Aline comes in to pitch for Campbell in the bottom of the fourth, and quickly finds himself in some trouble. After loading the bases, Ketchikan’s Trevor Sayer reaches first base on an error while scoring Chase Hanis. It’s now 9-1 Juneau.

7:30 p.m.

Kasen Ludeman is caught trying to score from second, and as we head to the bottom of the fourth with Juneau leading 9-0.

7:25 p.m.

There’s a break in the action as Ketchikan’s Chase Hanis warms up his arm. Hanis has relieved Colby Hanchey at pitcher, and needs just one more out to get out of the inning.

7:17 p.m.

Kaleb Campbell comes up with another RBI, lacing a hard ground ball to left field to easily score Thomas Baxter from third base. Juneau up 8-0 with one gone in the top of the fourth.

7:15 p.m.

Finn Kesey scores Juneau’s sixth run on wild pitch.

7:05 p.m.

Once again Ketchikan furnishes a two-out hit, and once again Juneau follows with an out. After three innings, Juneau leads 5-0.

6:50 p.m.

Wow, just witnessed one heck of a hustle play by Kaleb Campbell. The pitcher started rounding the bases after Ketchikan’s wayward throw to second base to get out the lead runner — Kaeden Quinto. The throw was off the mark and Quinto and Campbell were both waved home, with Campbell sliding head first to beat the throw.

6:45 p.m.

Ketchikan grounds out to end the inning, stranding Sayer, and now looks to contain Juneau on defense. Juneau’s scored in each of the first two innings.

6:40 p.m.

Trevor Sayer hits a single with two outs — Ketchikan’s first hit against Kampbell — to extend the second inning.

6:30 p.m.

Eli Krupi scores Juneau’s lone run in the top of the second. Krupi walked to lead off the inning, and two outs later, scored on an error. Kampbell’s back on the mound for Juneau.

6:16 p.m.

Juneau up 2-0 after one inning. Kaleb Campbell is Juneau’s starting pitcher, and got three quick outs to cruise into the second inning.

6:10 p.m.

Juneau is coming out hot. Thomas Baxter and Kaleb Campbell each recorded hits for multiple bases, scoring two runs.

6:02 p.m.
