RUNNING

Home, 10 a.m., Extra Tough 5K and 1-mile walk/run at Riverbend Elementary School covered playground. Empire Cup series race and fundraiser for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Juneau. CYCLOCROSS

Home, 3 p.m., Treadwell Mine Cyclocross Bike Race at Sandy Beach. Registration 2:30 p.m., race fee $10. Race starts at upper part of Sandy Beach and riders will do a series of 10 loops on the Treadwell Mine Trails. Any unmotorized bike with at least two wheels will do.
