The Juneau Softball Association recently announced the results from the 47th Annual Jamie Parsons Memorial Rainball Tournament, held in Juneau from June 23 to June 26. This year, 34 coed, mens, and womens teams register for Rainball. Teams were placed in 8 divisions. The 2022 Rainball Tournament Champions are:
— Coed C – First place: SMASH, runner-up: The Grind
— Coed D – First place: Domer Sandlotters, runners-up: Khaos Coed
— Coed F – First place: Total Accidents, runners-up: Joe’s Team Sucks
— Men’s C – First place: El Sombrero, runners-up: Dawson Construction
— Men’s D – First place: Kekambas, runners-up: Thibodeau’s Kenny’s Liquor
— Men’s E – First place: Below Average Joes, runners-up: Island Pub
— Women’s Upper – First place: The Grind Coffee Co., runners-up: Hot Shots Coffee Company
— Women’s Lower – First place: Mendenhall Mall Hot Shots, runners-up: Malia’s Mad Batters
During the award ceremony this year, the Juneau Softball Association honored three members of JSA for their participation, sportsmanship and contributions to the slow pitch softball community in Juneau as the 2022 JSA Pioneers of Softball. Those honored included Joe Ver, Dee Boster and Everett Boster.
