Final score: 63-58, JDHS.

Key stat: Sean Oliver scored 19 points, including four second-half free throws in a close game.

Dec. 20, v. Coral Academy

Final score: 72-61, Coral Academy.

Key stat: Alwen Carrillo scored 12 second-half points for the Crimson Bears.

Dec. 18, v. Somerset Academy Losee

Final score: 64-62, Somerset Losee

Key stat: Despite trailing by 7 at the 10-minute mark of the second half, JDHS led by 1 with 8 seconds left in the narrow loss.

Dec. 17, v. Amplus Academy

Final score: 42-30, Amplus.

Key stat: JDHS was held to 13 points in the first half.

TMHS boys basketball

Record: 1-2

Dec. 18, v. Nome-Beltz

Final score: 61-52, Nome-Beltz Middle HighHigh School.

Key stat: Sam Lockhart and Thomas Baxter cracked double digits for TMHS. Both made the all-tournament team.

Dec. 17, v. Cordova

Final score: 65-28, TMHS

Key stat: Thunder Mountain scored 44 first-half points.

Key stat- Nearly half of JDHS’ points came in the second quarter, scoring 19.

Final score: 79-41, Sierra Canyon

Key stat: The TMHS girls outrebounded Sierra Canyon 36-24.

Dec. 17, v. Mt. Edgecumbe

Final score: 56-46, TMHS.

Key stat: Kiara Kookesh put up 15 points on 50% shooting and snagged five rebounds.
